As an association, the El Cajon Fire Fighters are involved in many charities and events, many of which change year to year. Listed below are some of the major events we are involved in yearly.

Burn Run - July

An annual event that involves fire apparatus from all San Diego County Fire Departments, driven in a "fire truck parade" throughout the county with a final destination of Qualcomm Stadium.

A "Fire-Fair" at the Stadium then takes place, with all proceeds from the sale of T-shirts etc., going to the San Diego Burn Institute.

After the "Fire-Fair" demonstration there is a Padre baseball game with a special honoring to San Diego County Firefighters.

El Cajon Fire Captain, Doug Elliot, has been the chairperson for this event for the past two years . His fine efforts have made this event one of the "must be there" events of the summer.

Mother Goose Parade - November

An annual parade second only in Southern California to the Rose Parade. We have been involved for about 30 years. Our Fire Fighters participate as clowns and ride on our antique fire engine.

Fourth of July

The City supplies and funds the fireworks and we help with an old fashioned party.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, apple pie and music help to make for a fun day for the whole family. Monies raised help with the annual Christmas toy drive.

East County Toy Drive - December

Started initially as a way to provide toys to children at Christmas, this has grown to be a self funding event and has been adopted by Volunteers of America (spreading to include Imperial County).

A charity golf tournament, fourth of July monies, and local merchant donations help to ensure its success.

Come join in on the fun and meet the El Cajon Fire Fighters. See you at the next event!

Exact dates will be posted on this page as event draws near.
